ABOUT THE FIRM

Walter L. Peters, Esq., the founder of Peters, Moritz, Peischl, Zulick, Landes & Brienza, LLP law firm, began his practice as a sole practitioner in Nazareth in 1943.  Walter was born and raised in Nazareth and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1932.  In 1936, he received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lafayette College, where he was also a member of Phi Beta Kappa.  After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1940, Walter served for three years as the clerk for Judge Chester H. Rhodes of the Pennsylvania Superior Court.

 In the mid-1950s, Walter purchased and then renovated and restored a building erected in 1771 by the Moravians who founded Nazareth.  That building on historic Center Square continues to serve as the firm’s office.

Until his retirement in late 1992, Walter continued to serve devotedly his many clients, including a broad variety of individuals, businesses, and charitable organizations.  As a resident and attorney in Nazareth, Walter frequently expressed to his partners, staff, and friends his desire to serve actively and give generously to the town in which he had made his home and built his practice.  He passed away on September 12, 1995.

Members of the firm have served as Mayor of Nazareth, as Counsel for the Nazareth Mutual Insurance Company, Solicitor to the Nazareth Area School District, and General Counsel for Martin Guitar, as well as the interests of various municipalities in the area including: Bushkill Township, East Allen Township, Plainfield Township, Upper Nazareth Township and Washington Township.
